(4) AUTT 2984; a 2.0 grade point average or better in AUTT courses; program director approval; current acceptable completion score on the S/P2 safety training; and an approved work site - must be completed prior to taking this course.

Course Description

This is the fourth in a series of eight internships needed for the student who wants to complete the required internship in a part-time work environment. The internship program provides students with the opportunity to apply their knowledge, learn new techniques, and get on-the-job training at an automotive dealer or independent garage. Individualized hands-on laboratory training utilizing live work is included in this course. NOTE: This course can be completed at the South Omaha Campus for those who qualify. An approved worksite includes any site where students have the potential to apply the skills learned in the entry-level classes. Special consideration for other worksites is subject to the program director's approval. Students must also possess all tools required by the employer and be working towards the purchase of the internship tool list (ITL) by the eighth internship, and have an acceptable completion score on the Safety and Pollution Prevention (S/P2) training course.
